He woke up feeling cold, a shiver through his body. He tried to feel her presence, his eyes still closed. No heat no scent, nothing. He opened his eyes, slowly, and looked around, confused. She was not there. There was no trace of her.
He closed his eyes and imagined the texture of her hair through his fingers. He felt the softness of her skin against his body, the contour of her hips, the moisture of her lips, her tongue inside his ears, his mouth. The proximity, the movement, the drops of sweat. He felt warm and alive. He closed his eyes and slept again.
